Guidelines for authors/writers

N.B. Only literature for which you hold the copyright can be considered for publication.

All works of literature, regardless of subject matter (excluding obviously offensive material) will be considered for publication.

Our current categories are:

Fiction
Non-Fiction
Children
Audio
Drama
Poetry
Free
New/Sci-Fi

If you believe that your work should be listed in more than one category then please let us know and we will consider listing it in two categories. e.g. a children's fiction book could be listed under Children and Fiction.

Poems can be submitted individually for free distribution or as part of a collection whereby we would charge a fee for the download. Therefore an individual poem (not part of a collection) would be listed under Poetry and Free.

We do not offer a "vanity" or "print on demand" service as the cost of printing in ink and paper is too high and would put your first publication in competition with cheaper priced books from well-known authors. All our books are therefore available as ebook downloads from http://freeandcheapebooks.com

Your Submission:

We do not restrict the minimum or maximum number of words your work must fit into as that will be determined by the story line. We do, however, request that the submission not be so long that the reader will lose interest before completely reading the work. Approximately 40,000 to 100,000 words seems to be suitable.

On the first page begin with your name, physical address, email and telephone number including country and area codes. Starting on the second page: a synopsis (a complete short version of the story including the plot and major characters), an introduction to appear on the webpage, a short biography and a photograph (.jpg, .gif or .png) of the author. Commence your finished work on a new page. The preferred typeface is Frutiger Linotype 12 point. Do not use Headers, Footers or Page Numbers. The entire submission should be contained in one document or individual documents which have been zipped to keep them all together. Email your submission to submissions@yourebookpublisher.com and we will reply by email after we have considered its potential. All submissions are to be in electronic format using Microsoft Office Word (1997 to 2007), OpenOffice Writer or .RTF.

As a high price will often deter a potential buyer, our philosophy is to keep the prices low and hence sell more copies of each book, thus giving the authors more revenue. The price we determine for your work will be advised after we have received it and assessed its potential.

We may give you suggestions or criticisms. These are not to insult you but to help you with your penmanship and your ultimate success.
